Friday the 13th of December, 2013 was an exceptional day for Suzie and Shawn, atop Sedona's famous Chicken Point overlook, where Shawn originally proposed to Suzie. Suzie's dad drove us up the narrow technical Broken Arrow 2-track for a sunset photo shoot, just in time for epic sun flares and blazing copper red rocks.
The night before their wedding, we captured their close family and friend celebration at the Amara Resort for cocktails and of course, a round of "Bride-Groom arm wrestling", because Shawn & Suzie are just plain fun!
Friday's events began at dawn with the Sedona Beauty Team. Liz and Lindsay are the Sedona on-location "go-to" hair & make-up professionals when a girl wants to look stunning. The couple's "first look" took place down on the creek below their suite at the Amara Resort, where the mallards watched eagerly. Special thanks to Al Aronson with the Red Rock Magic Trolly who kindly shuttled the wedding party for a picturesque photo-shoot tour through Red Rock Country on the way to the Oak Creek Country Club where the Redstone Grill awaited their arrival with an elegant barista, designed by wedding planner, Jesaca Leonardi. Eric Miller, our famous local Sedona musician, set the mood with his acoustic guitar and eloquent love songs.
The lovely Shanandoah Sterling of Sterling Weddings of Sedona officiated the ceremony. The Altar overlooked the gorgeous pond and water fountains on the golf course, with gorgeous delicate white flowers provided by the Sedona Fine Art of Flowers, here in the Village of Oak Creek.
We had such a fun time zipping around in golf carts for the numerous photo locations on the course, in-between blowing bubbles and drinking hot cocoa with the kids in the morning sun. The brunch provided by the Redstone Grill was beyond words delicious and creatively presented.
Suzie and Shawn were one of the most delightful couples to photograph and share their day with. They remind us of how much we love our work --
